FAQ

Are Reflection Cleaning an agency?
No.  Reflection Cleaning is a local family owned small business who employ all our cleaners directly.  We collect their tax and National Insurance contributions, pay their annual holiday entitlement and value their contribution to the company and in return, they earn fair regular employment with us.

What steps do you take to ensure staff are trustworthy?
When our staff apply to work for us, they are put through a comprehensive screening process.  We meet them in their homes, check up employer references and obtain clearance from Access NI before they even set foot in your home.  We feel these are good measures and all our current clients are happy with this arrangement.  The staff also arrive in branded Reflection Cleaning uniform and like to employ cleaners with a friendly 'can-do' attitude.

Do I need to supply any cleaning products or equipment?
We supply a full range of products and equipment so that is one less thing for you to worry about.  If there are particular products that you prefer to use that we do not supply, you are welcome to leave it out for the cleaner. However, we only use a range of highly rated cleaning products, mops and microfibre cloths as well as energy saving vacuums.

Do I need to do anything before the cleaner arrives?
It's an age old expression 'clean for the cleaner!' Although this is not necessary, it is advisable to tidy up as much as possible prior to your cleaners arrival.  This is simply to ensure as much of your booked time is spent with actual cleaning.

How will the cleaners gain access?
There are numerous options available in the likely event that at some point you will not be home when our cleaners are working.  A high percentage of our clients have provided us a copy of their house key.  This is a convenient option, as it it is one less thing to worry about.  We have a secure key holding system in place and keys are always kept in a secure location when not in use.  You can also nominate a safe place at time of booking for the cleaners to pick up from.  The key can then be posted back through the letterbox or returned to the safe place.  We will never put pressure on our clients to provide us with a key.

What will be cleaned in my house?
Essentially, we can clean anything internal of the house.  A free consultation can be set up, prior to your first clean where a schedule or priorities can be set.  Please see our services areas for specifics of what we do.  Please be aware what we can or can't do, is very much dependent on the time allocated to the job.

What day and time can you clean my house?
Our cleaning hours are 8.30am-5pm Monday-Friday.  Whilst every effort is made to accommodate your specific day/time request, it is not always possible to match this request, however we will do our very best.

Is there any contract to sign?
We prefer not to enforce a long-term contract with our clients.  We prefer to earn long-term relationships with our clients by providing a high quality service, where your needs are met from visit-to-visit.  We do request a reasonable notice period of 4 weeks in the event that you no longer require our services.

My friend found their cleaner on Gumtree and he/she charges only £9 per hour.
We get asked a lot about rates and what others are charging.  If you wish to go with a self employed cleaner, that is totally up to you.  In our experience of clients we have won over, one of the major reasons they leave these types of cleaners is to do with sickness and unreliability.  Once you are assigned a slot with Reflection Cleaning, we endevour to always carry out your clean at that allotted time, regardless of holidays or sickness.  We operate as a company, therefore our overheads are largely taken up by staff wages, holiday pay, cleaning products and equipment, public liability insurance, travel costs, car insurance among other things.  Of course we try to make a small profit at the end!

Will I always have the same cleaner or cleaning team?
Due to high demand, the vast majority of our cleaners work in pairs. Whilst every effort is made to keep your cleaning team the same every week, we have to allow for illness and holidays so on occasion, you may have a replacement cleaner sent to clean your home.  We always try to ensure you are kept up-to-date with changes to your team, however, illness at short notice, does not always make this possible.

What if I need to reschedule my clean?
We require a minimum of 48 hours in order to make changes to your scheduled clean.  Failure to do so, may result in a late cancellation fee of up to 100% of your regular cleaning fee.
